"We are drawing" documents drawings generated by newly-formed teams on an online, collaborative drawing tool in 20 minutes. We collected 24 drawings from 24 teams, in which 6 teams were in a collocated, directed condition; 6 teams were in a distributed, directed condition; 6 teams were in a collocated, undirected condition; and 6 teams were in a distributed, undirected condition.

For directed conditions, teams were asked to draw one building in the University of California, Irvine. And for undirected conditions, teams were asked to freely express and share through drawing.

Through this experiment, we expected that undirected, playful drawing was able to help teams to build trust, cohesion and positive emotions because of four characteristics that playful drawing possesses: expressive, reflective, interactive and playful.

Besides collecting the drawings, we measured the changes of people's trust, cohesion and emotions. The results showed that people who had no collaborative experience with each other could collectively burst creative and fun drawings in such a short time and ultimately build team cohesion. Moreover, people tend to feel happier, more relaxed after this practice.
